I have been a cloth diapering Mama for four years now (thankfully not on the same child continuously), and I have grown to have strong opinions about what works and does not work for my children and my laundry.
My interest was piqued when I had the opportunity to give Happy Heiny’s® a test run, but I was also a little nervous. What if they were terrible? How could they possibly be as good as the one size pocket diapers we have been loving for over a year?
We tried out Happy Heinys One Size diaper, which has adjustable snaps that allow it to fit baby from birth to potty training (7.5 lbs to 35 lbs).
I am completely over the moon for Happy Heinys! I didn’t know a diaper could be this great (I mean, before I thought a diaper was a diaper, right?).
When I first put a Happy Heinys diaper on 17-month-old Deeds, he stood up, and looked down at the diaper he was wearing. Then he looked at me, smiled, and patted his diaper. I take that as a definite endorsement from someone who doesn’t talk. Straight from the source!
The first thing I love about Happy Heinys are the extra-sturdy, extra-wide Velcro closure tabs. They are easy to maneuver, and I can locate and fasten them easily even when Deeds is squirming around and doing barrel rolls to protest the diaper changing process.
Happy Heinys® uses custom milled fleece for their diapers on the part that is against baby’s skin. This fleece is so soft that my initial instinct was to hold it against my face like a minky (when it was a brand new diaper; I’m not a weirdo).
The diapers fit well around the legs with no gapping. This means they contain messes better but they also don’t leave red marks on baby’s legs.
They are designed so the only thing that touches your child’s delicate skin is the soft fleece.
The Happy Heinys One Size diapers come with two inserts (one small and one large). This gives you the option of using either one, depending on the baby’s size, or two at once, in case you have a heavy wetter or need to batten down the hatches for a long nap.

One Size diapers are a wonderful cloth diapering investment because you get so much “mileage” out of them. I came into cloth diapering with very little know-how and didn’t have a cloth diapering Mama mentor. Through my trial-and-error, I happily discovered One Size diapers, and now I encourage cloth diapering newbies to suck it up and make the investment. Having good quality, easy-to-use diapers ensures your cloth diapering journey will be a success!
Happy Heinys® are available in a wide variety of solid colors and fun prints. As you can see, Deeds is sporting a whimsical cow print.
We would definitely love to add more Happy Heinys diapers to our stash!
Happy Heinys are Made in the U.S.A.

In addition to giving Deeds and I a diaper to try, Happy Heinys also donated some One Size diapers to an adoptive family.
We are grateful to Happy Heinys for their support of Mom Most Traveled’s Celebration of Adoption!

Thanks for the positive review. We love our Happy Heinys and I feel they don’t get as much press as some other diapers. We have the pocket mediums mostly and have used them from 3-19 months (and still going). The hemp inserts are fabulous at holding in maximum moisture (although they do love getting stuck in my dryer)! I love too that their website offers some basic cloth diapering help and how-to.
Thanks again!
