Block Party!

citi KidStuffPR has introduced me to CitiBlocs, a wonderful open-ended building toy for ages three and older.

CitiBlocs are uniform, earth-friendly wooden planks made from New Zealand pine.

The simplicity of CitiBlocs allows children to build, stack, and create structures that exercise the imagination.
Through trial and error in building with Citiblocs, children learn reasoning, problem solving, cause and effect, and engineering, all while having fun!
This is the kind of building set that I have to tell my hubs to STOP playing with and give the kids a chance!
CitiBlocs have won a slew of awards, including the IPMA 2009 Outstanding Products Award, and an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award.

citi2We got the basic set, a 52 Piece Wooden Building Set in “natural”, with a few red and blue planks thrown in for interest.

This kit is a good size for travel or independent table-top fun.

We used the enclosed papers as inspiration for our beginning projects, and working with the pre-made plans provides great inspiration for future designs. Check out the Citiblocs website for some pictures of amazing projects outside of our expertise!

Initially, I was concerned that Deeds, who is only 2, would unwittingly destroy our creations as he attempted to “help”.

Happily, our buildings weren’t the source of Deeds’s wrath, and we didn’t have to be extremely ginger with them, even with a foundation of soft carpet.

Citi3 citi4Citiblocs has a fan in me; I just wish 1) the basic set came with a neat storage solution; maybe a drawstring bag? and 2) we had more than 52 planks!

Maybe we can add on to our set at the next gift-giving occassion. You can buy CitiBlocs at Glamma Toys [https://glammatoys.com]

Enter to win your choice of either:

52 Piece Wooden Building Set (52 precision cut blocks)
OR 54 Piece Red/Blue Color Wooden Building Set (27 red and 27 blue blocks, precision cut and of the highest quality with a safe and non-toxic water-based stain)

1.) To enter to win visit Glamma Toys and tell me another product that interests you!

Try to show that you actually did visit the site. Don’t make me doubt you!
