Last year, my hubby surprised me for V-Day….when I got in my car to go to work that morning….it was filled with balloons and a teddy bear!! This year, he’s cooking me a fab dinner with dessert!

That was such a funny commercial, and since my mister is shrinking away and needs some better fitting pants, I must enter. Dockers are truly the best wearing men’s pants.

Anyway, we don’t celebrate Valentine’s day much. My husband gets me flowers sometimes, but since I don’t like roses (so cliche), he often gets mums or something else. So that’s about as sweet as it gets.

When we were dating hubby went to a chocolate shop owned by a friend and hand dipped strawberries for me and put them in a box making them look like chocolate roses! I was definitely impressed!

But to what my hubby did for me for V-day last year was let me sleep in and tookcare of our son, may not seem like a lot to some people, but to me was the best gift ever!

Our first date was on Valentines Day while we were traveling in Cambodia. I found a note slipped under my hotel room door. Later in the day he took me to a famous waterfall and then to a romantic dinner at a French restaurant in the area. We finished the date with a walk along the beach in the dark.

8 years ago today, my husband gave me the most memorable weekend of my life for Valentine’s day (actually his giving it to me was facilitated by his Commanding Officer who left him back from deploying for an extra 2 days to fly over with the equip because he knew we were newly wed in July and had canceled our honeymoon because of 9/11) anyway, we had a marvelous last weekend together with a lavish day in Nashville followed by a gourmet dinner out.. why was this so special. This turned out to be my last night EVER with the man of my dreams… he was killed in Afghanistan by a sniper on 19 May 02 when an alquaeda sniper took him out because he was a threat (he was a top-ranked Farsi linguist). I’ll never forget that day together… and Valentine’s Day always reminds me of his sweet embrace and kind smile.

Thank you for the giveaway. Unfortunately, I dont have a picture but, I can
share my gifts and day with you.
My husband actually surprised me with my valentines gifts yesterday. He
bought a teddy bear that was holding a heart shaped box. Inside of the box was
heart candies in a red mesh bag. When I lifted the candy up, I found a necklace
inside on the bottom of the box! He recently noticed me admiring necklaces at
    the jewelry counter.
Today, we went to my son baptism and then I took him to lunch at our
favorite mexican rest. his birthday is tomorrow (15th) so we did a few things
for him here and there since Friday, little surprises!
Anyways, my husband also gave me a card telling me how much he still loves
me. Thank you for letting me share my special day.

This year, the night before Valentine’s Day, we went out to an Ethiopian restaurant for dinner (my aunt and uncle watched the children), where we eat with no utensils (great experience). On the morning of Valentine’s Day, he brought me a dozen roses as soon as I woke up. Then, as a family, we went to the Museum of Natural History in NYC. Then, we came home, and my husband made us a wonderful dinner. He told me the UGGS I really want are coming in the mail the next day to keep my feet warm. At night, once the kids were in bed, by the fire burning in our fireplace, we enjoyed tea together and I got a mini massage. Then, I drifted off to sleep. A Big Thank You to my wonderful husband!!

We have an agreement that V-day is for suckers. We treat each other special every day, not just when a calander tells us its time again. We had a nice day sitting around watching movies and enjoying each others company. My husband woke me up
with a cup of coffee in our bed,
Said “Happy Valentines!”, kissed my TOES,
    then he kissed my head.

He surprised me with a big bouquet
when I got home from the gym,
Invited me to Newport Grill for a romantic meal
    —JUST me and him!

    We got all gussied up
to go out on our dinner date—but—
His jacket was too small in the shoulders!
His pants too big at the waist!

It’s been a year he’s been working on
    the sweetest gift for me…
by taking care of his heart and losing
    lots of pounds—more than 33!

I LOVED the coffee, kisses, meal, and flowers,
But more than things bought with wealth:
I loved the fact that my husband
has worked so hard to improve his health!

My boyfriend was soo sweet on Valentine’s Day! He bought me three kinds of my favorite type of chocolate, as well as a sweet pair of shoes I had been wanting! He was going to take me to Olive Garden, but there was a three hour wait so we went to Ham’s instead. He bought me an appetizer + my food, and then we went to the movies and watched both Valentine’s Day and Wolfman (I wanted to see both) and in between movies he took me out for a milkshake! And he bought everything for me, even though we’re both in college and pretty much broke :) And the whole night, he opened the door for me, held my hand, and even let me lay on him in the movie Wolfman when I got scared :)

On Valentine’s Day, my dear husband got up and made me breakfast in bed–it was wonderful–he had even found my favorite bakery and brought me my favorite pastries(he’s never actually been there–he had to ask my best friend where it was located–it’s in the basement of a huge office building–they really only sell to restaurants–but if you go in they will sell you a few items–but it is so not him to be adventurous)
It was extra sweet of him because he is on a new diet from his Dr –that allows no sweets.
