Liking Myself is a book for children 5-10 about self-esteem and emotional stability.
Liking Myself delivers a message, in kid language, about how to handle feeling depressed, upset, or overwhelmed.
Even as an adult, it is good to be reminded that, “it is okay to like yourself and be your own good friend.”
The Mouse, the Monster and Me: Assertiveness for Young People is another book by Dr. Pat Palmer, for ages 8 and older.
The Mouse, the Monster and Me: Assertiveness for Young People is a metaphor about balancing your aggressive “monster” feelings with your passive “mouse” feelings.
There is also a section about receiving criticism and compliments, which is something I could stand more practice with myself.
The Mouse, the Monster and Me: Assertiveness for Young People and Liking Myself would be a good addition to your elementary classroom library!
Thank you to Uplift Press for providing copies of these two books for review!

Thanks for this post. As a counselor, I am always on the lookout for these kind of books.
