Mother

Did My Mother Do That? is a new title from Candlewick Press by Sharon Holt, illustrated by Brian Lovelock

In an “Are You My Mother?” kind of train of thought, a child asks What was I like when I was born?

Talking through the answer leads to a host of implausible interspecies mother and baby relationships, wondering if perhaps their behaviors are similar to the way a human mother and child might relate.

Dad and Pop: An Ode to Fathers and Stepfathers pays homage to the father relationship, through the eyes of a young girl in a blended family.

"Dad" and "Pop" are different in many ways; (Dad is tall and wears suits. Pop is bald and wears boots, etc.), but they both love the little girl!

This is a fun upbeat book to honor both dad and stepdad on Father’s day!

The father book looks perfect for those many blended families…books don’t always address the non-traditional arrangements many children experience.
