robin bottles Sunscreen is one product that I have looked at warily. I thought of it as a necessary evil; it protects you from skin cancer but often contains phtalates,  or harsh chemicals that burn your eyes.

I’m so happy that “someone” did something about that.

Dr. Robin’s All Natural Chemical-Free Sunscreen is a SPF 30+ sunscreen made in California, specially formulated to protect babies and children from UVA and UVB rays.

Dr. Robin Schaffran worked for more than two years to develop a sunscreen free of irritating chemicals like phthalates, parabens and fragrance.

Besides being chemical free, Dr. Robin’s sunscreen is also water resistant, gluten-free, and cruelty free.

Bonus! It also contains Quinoa and Oat for soothing hydration and Green Tea Extract, which helps prevent free radical damage

Unlike other chemical free sunscreens on the market today, Dr. Robin’s All Natural Chemical-Free Sunscreen is easy-on and rubs in without being the consistency of spackling compound.

Zinc oxide is a natural barrier–so much better than harsh chemicals.

I learned that the sunscreen uses titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, natural minerals that are scientifically proven to be the most gentle and effective way to block BOTH UVA and UVB rays. I love that it’s chemical free, I need something like this to protect my baby from the sun!

Chemical sunscreen ingredients, like avobenzone or oxybenzone, are synthetic substances that absorb UV light before it can impact the skin. However, these synthetic substances can penetrate the skin and are more likely to cause irritation or allergic reaction, especially on young, sensitive skin.

Some sunscreens have ratings like SPF 50, 70 or even 85 but products higher than SPF 30 do not provide significantly more UV protection. The FDA currently proposes that sunscreen manufacturers not be allowed to claim an SPF rating above 30 with the highest meaningful rating being 30+.
