Celebrating Fall

Jojo is 4 now, and he is such fun! He is old enough to eagerly anticipate fun events like birthdays and holidays. I like to come up with reasons to have little celebrations at home.
Mama was eager to debut her Thanksgiving/Harvest table decor, so I decided to celebrate the fall season.
MuffinTable

These table linens are a Good Thing! I got them on clearance at Kmart a couple days after Thanksgiving. Thanks, Martha!

I know Kmart has a lot of haters out there, but I think they have some of the best holiday decor!

I couldn’t welcome fall without some tasty pumpkin treats. These are The Best Pumpkin Muffins from the cookbook Vegan with A Vengeance by Isa Chandra Moskowitz.

I followed the recipe exactly, well, almost. I didn’t have allspice, and I added 1/4 tsp. cardamom.

We aren’t vegan, but vegan baking is so much fun. I love that it doesn’t involve raw eggs. That emboldens me to allow Jojo to help me; I don’t have to worry about salmonella.

MuffinCups

Aren’t they cute? I highly recommend these little silicone muffin cups I picked up at a craft store. They are easy to clean, and reusable. Mine were a little over $7.

No more trashing paper muffin cups, or if you are me, removing paper from your muffin sliver by sliver.

I love fall, and I think it’s due to my mom’s decorating and celebrating of it just like you’re doing. I’m sure Jojo and Deeds will enjoy it too, even if you don’t have any falling maple leaves in your area!

Those muffins look great! I’ll have to try baking some.

My mom gave me some silicone bake-ware, going to use it for the first time with my pumpkin bread. Love the idea of the silicone muffin holders, I had never seen them before.

Thanks for sharing the Pumpkin Muffin recipe. I’ll have to give vegan a try.
