If you are a parent, you are probably familiar with Richard Scarry books; over 150 million copies of his books have been sold over the past 40 years!

Thanks to One2One Network, I got a sneak preview of the new Busytown Mysteries TV series that will be airing on weekend mornings on CBS.

Busytown Mysteries will be a great, wholesome show to get kids thinking. My little ones already love the characters, whom we were first introduced to in our Hooray for Huckle DVD that we got this summer.

Along with his Busytown friends, Huckle Cat (the leader of the group)  work together to solve “mysteries” that are usually related to every day cause and effect situations, such as figuring out the identity of the town litter bug, or where a mysterious “flying saucer” came from! No ghosts or goblins or anything inappropriate for preschoolers.

The concepts are probably for older preschoolers and above, as the “solving” requires the ability to follow some logic. But even if your child isn’t logical, they will enjoy the catchy music, such as the “Who, what, when, where, why, how?” song that plays each time the gang comes upon a new mystery to solve.

Click here to find out the Busytown Mysteries TV schedule, and also check out all of the Busytown fun online.

At BusytownMysteries.com, kids can explore different neighborhoods in Busytown, interact with the Busytown characters and play 14 games and activities designed for preschoolers, including interactive games, a Fan Club and “My First Email,” which lets little ones email their progress to pre-approved friends and family addresses.

Now your kids can get busy!

I have to say, I like the idea of a “first email” in a safe environment where parents need to pre-approve emails. I think I’m going to try and look up similar services - though this site sounds great too, of course!
