BOON: n. a benefit bestowed, especially one bestowed in response to a request.

Boon,Inc. has been making old things new with the clean, modish design genius of Rebecca Finell for a while now. It was Boon, Inc. who brought us the simple ingenuity that is the Frog Pod (you better believe I bought one! Our bath tubs have been grown-up friendly ever since!).

I was excited when Boon released their Feeding Line. So excited, in fact, that I got all giddy over the Groovy plate and attempted to be artistic with the first meal I served:

Say hello to “fried rice face with shrimp mouth and onion uni-brow”. My favorite thing about the Groovy plate, besides it being PVC free, Phthalate free, and BpA-free, is that the cute little orange cups can be rearranged or removed. There are lots of fun possibilities with this one, my friends. The compartments are nice and petite: the perfect size for a toddler tummy.
Next to the Groovy plate, you can see a set of Benders utensils. I liked them because they were cute, but when I actually opened the package I was even more smitten. Why? Because the ends are adustable! You can bend the spoon or spork into any angle and it stays put! What is even more remarkable is that at age 11 months, Deeds can actually use Benders to feed himself! I am so incredibly impressed: Benders get TWO big thumbs up (and two little baby thumbs up, too because Deeds loves his Benders)!

Benders will always have a special place in my heart for being Baby Deeds’s first utensils!

Though I was familiar with the Boon product line, I never thought that a Boon product would make traveling easier. Never, that is, until I met SQUIRT! Squirt is a baby food dispensing spoon that holds up to 3 ounces of baby food in its bulb-like handle! Spoon + container = one handed baby feeding with Squirt! Before I discovered Squirt, I had no idea how I was going to feed Deeds jars of baby food while on our airplane trip.

We tried it out before we left (note that Deeds has some suspicion in his eyes…)

Here is the Squirt spoon in all of it’s majesty while ON the actual AIRPLANE. It was a relief to not have to worry about Deeds and his cat-like reflexes knocking a jar of gloopy baby food off of the tray table:

Boon has definitely simplified my life and given me some STYLE! And since Boon gives 10% of their profits to children’s charities, I feel great about supporting this clever, socially conscious company!
