Audio Recorder 2.0 Deluxe

My father was a deejay all of my life (and even before my life got started).

Audio, captured in a variety of mediums, has been an ever-present fixture in the backdrop of my life.

My father used to put a tape recorder near to my brother and I while we played, talked, and sang songs. It is so sweet to listen to those aging tapes now. I can hardly believe that the squeaky little voice belonged to a preschool me!

I remember playing records in the living room with my brother. Imitating our father, we also “performed” our very own “radio show” which we recorded on cassette tape.

Listening to those tapes transports me back to my childhood and the cinder-block rancher in which I grew up. It is important to me that I preserve these memories, even as the cassette ribbons begin to crumble with age.

Audio Recorder Deluxe 2.0 is a complete package of hardware and software that allows you to convert LP’s, Cassettes and other recorded media into MP-3 and Audio CDs!

I found this commercial on YouTube, in case you don’t like to read my pesky words:

My favorite thing about the Audio Recorder 2.0 Deluxe software is that it has an Easy Wizard Mode, for those who don’t really know what they are doing, as well as an Advanced Mode for professionals!

Hardware, cable & software are all included, and the instructions are detailed.

Audio Recorder 2.0 Deluxe retails for $79.99 at HonesTech.com.

To enter for a chance to win
Audio Recorder 2.0 Deluxe for yourself, leave a comment telling me what kind of audio memories you would want to convert first!

One winner will be chosen at random.

This giveaway is open to US residents.

This contest will close on January 8, 12 midnight CST.

*congrats to Carissa!*

omg this is too funny, but since space is an issue in this closet of an apartment and I’m also considering relocation in 2009, part of my new years resolutions this year was to finally convert every tape and vinyl I own to digital. There are tapes my mom recorded of me as a little girl and tapes from my sleepovers, my friends and I would tell ghost stories and tape each other telling the story and when we listen to them today it always makes us laugh. One tape snapped already and I’d hate to lose any others. This would be a huge lifesaver and help me to meet one of my new years resolutions, cool!

I can’t believe it. My man has been wanting a gadget that could do this for the past 6 years neither he nor I knew such a thing existed. He has been playing and singing in a band for the past 20 years and has all their old stuff on cassettes and he has wanted to record them all on to CD’s forever now. He has seen members come and go over the years and he treasures these cassettes. The first thing he would convert over to CD’s would be his band tapes which is well over 70 cassettes not to mention the 500 or more cassettes tapes he bought over the years that he still listens too. Some are so worn and need replacing. One tape he will surely have to do for me is an old DR.Hook cassette that I just love. I still can’t believe you found this item!!! I just showed him the video. He is sitting behind me saying I got to have that. You know I want that. I just got to have that. lol lol He is worse than the kids when he gets excited. Thanks for Sharing :)

We used to make cassette recordings a lot when I was little. I have one tape with my grandma reciting a poem. She died about 30 years ago. I’d like to rip that recording and send it to all my cousins. In fact, I promised to do that at the last reunion…

My husband had a radio show in college and he recorded some of his program onto tape. I would love to convert some of these tapes into MP3 files so that our kids can listen to them when they get older. I think that they would get a real kick out of hearing their father on the air.

I have cassette tapes of my daughters from the 1980’s. My oldest daughter had a Fisher Priice recorder and taped her and her sisters whenever they were playing. Those times are so precious to me, and I worry about the tapes breaking or just wearing out. This software would be a God send to save those invaluable memories.

    08 January 2009, 4:28 am

My husband and I have a large record collection from our youths, and my parents amassed an even larger collection. They also have reel-to-reel tapes of concerts they attended. But, the most precious tape that I’d like to convert is the microcassette in my parents’ answering machine. It’s just a standard “we can’t come to the phone right now” message, but it’s my dad’s voice, and he died last year, and I’m so afraid the tape is going to get erased or warped or torn and it’ll be lost. It’s the last thing I have of him.

I have a box of reel-to-reel tapes that include family tree interview with most of my grandparents and a couple of great-grandparents and -aunts, etc… And some that my father recorded of radio broadcasts of various shows popular back when broadcasting was just getting started.
More techie-type tools would probably be needed to extract SOME of those signals, but this would be a heck of a start!!

  147. 147 Mollie G.
    08 January 2009, 6:12 am

Considering that it is getting harder and harder to find replacements for the old-fashioned turntable/tape-player/radio combo currently in the entertainment center, for when it decides to kick the bucket, I have six liquor boxes of cherished LPs that need some preservative action taken…

I’d like to convert reel to reel tapes to CDs and cassettesof our father playing the accordion and guitar, when he was still with us.
The recordings would bring us warm and pleasant memories of a hard working steelworker who liked to relax playing accordion and guitar for family and friends….

thank you for offering this as a prize.

    Sincerely,
    Tony Pietzak

When my triplet daughters were younger they would sing none stop..they would put on little shows in our family room, dressing up in all sorts of costumes. After setting up folding chairs they would even make crayon colored tickets to see the shows. I have several cassette tapes of their performances that i would love to preserve of those wonderful memories. It would be especially fun to surprise my daughters who are now 22 years old.

My old cassettes of my mother’s memories need to be converted! On several occasions we sat down with my mother and recorded stories about what it was like when she grew up, how she met my father, funny stories about relatives, and even her days as a “stewardess” and being asked out on dates by Gene Autry. She is 92 years young… and we still record her stories and memories. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway!
