Ant Killer

antBait Ants. I can tolerate them singly, but when I see them attacking something in a writhing mass, I get extremely skeeved.

Once as a girl, I went out a-visiting and the person had a glass candy dish of tootsie pops. I tried to take a pop but when I picked up one, all of the contents of the bowl were stuck to it.

When I raised the clump of candy, underneath it all was hundreds of ants!

Like a scene from a horror movie! Nasty!

They must be stopped!

The best thing to do is give them poison that they can take back to their nest and share with their ant brethren.

Terro 300 Pre-Filled Liquid Ant Killer is made from a natural ingredient, Borax, which is safe to use around humans and pets, but is deadly to ants.

Ant foragers are attracted to the sweet liquid in the baits. They consume the liquid and carry it back to share with the colony (this takes a few days and is morbidly fascinating to watch).

In this way, the whole colony is eliminated. Bwahaha!

outdoor

Next, you can use Terro Outdoor Ant Killer Plus to create a barrier around your house.

Once you have baited inside for at least a week, begin applying TERRO Outdoor Ant Killer Granules around the perimeter of the house to prevent reinfestation.

TERRO Outdoor Ant Killer Granules are packaged in a 3 lb. Shaker Bag™ and is designed to allow the granules to be easily distributed in a three- to five-foot band.

Good luck! Fighting an ant problem takes time!

A family of ants congregated around our front door last month. We figured Jayden had dropped something around the scene, but there was nothing to be found. Greg decides to check his shoes for any surprises. He turned one shoe upside down and out pours two chicken nuggets and a pile of ants…

EEEKKK! Once about 6 years ago a ton of ants made a colony inside of an unopened box of ziplock bags. Eggs and all. *gag*

We often have fire ants on our lawn. One day last spring, when mowing, I stepped into a nest of them. I had burning bites on both of my legs. These bites are like little blisters that keep coming back. I am more careful now when in the yard.

My kids have been bitten severely by fire ants. One was climbing uphill and put her hands and arms in an ant-hill; the other stepped in one. Took weeks for the bites to heal!

I took my travel cup from the cabinet and filled it with ice and green tea like I always do. I brought it to work with me and the cap kept leaking so I took it off. Inside of my tea was an ant! I was so grossed out, I almost threw up in the trash can!

I just hate it when they come into the house and get into all the food, but I see them in my bedroom on the floor, next to my bed. I just get a creepy feeling that when I’m sleeping they might be crawling on me. I only have 2 bedrooms and my kids have those, I sleep in the storage room with the freezer and there isn’t any insulation or basement underneath, so I don’t have much protection from the outside. These would come in really handy.

I’m sure that my ant story is not nearly as disgusting as others have experienced…but I do hate the little creepy crawlys. I spotted a huge ant hill near my patio after seeing a trail of ants raiding my kitchen…I freaked!

    Thank you. :-)

When we first moved into our apt after visiting & seeing it only once we discovered while putting up food in the cabinets that there were ants already living there and realized how bad the ants were after several weeks it seems once we stopped them one way they would come in some other way through the walls. They are really, really bad here and we don’t know why.

Most days lately our driveway is so cocered by ants that you cant see the concrete. We have lost 4 big trees due to ants.Where the heck did they all come from? Its already so bad that I am afraid to let my 11 lb dog go out in the fenced in area, alone. I have only found a couple (of the big black ones) inside my house but it is a constant battle to keep them at bay.

Going on six years of ant battle for hubby, They show up with this huge hole in the back yard he goes out buys all the ant products he can find and they just keep comming back. Two years ago he caught me i poured Gasoline down the hole and lite it on fire. My husband was really mad at me he said i could have caught on fire and gotten hurt. We battle these little monsters because of our dogs we are afraid they will get bitten up by them. After talking with an exterminator we have found the reason our battle is not working. The Neighbors hahaha, Ants have several exits and entrances. So i went to the nieghbors and asked them if i paid for the exterminator to get rid of the ants will they allow him to come and do it. Was i ever shocked at there response NO, well now i dont talk with my nieghbors cause now wondering what they hiding lol. So would love to win and maybe this would be the end of my ant invasion.

We recycle aluminum cans. I drink diet soda and that is not a problem But the sugared varieties do draw the little buggers. Rinsing the cans does not eliminate the problem. So we know Spring has sprung with the entrance of the little armies of ants parading from our back doorr. And oh yes spring is here.

Ants are a continual problem here, and just recently one of the kids left one piece of pizza in the box on the counter. When I came into the kitchen I noticed the marching line of ants, opened the box and found the entire inside of it (and the pizza piece of course) covered with the little pests. It left the house rather rapidly!

An ant story that we will never forget it when my daughter threw the crust of her PB&J sandwich in the bathroom trashcan when she was about 5 years old. We found the path of ants and followed them into the bathroom straight to the trash can. My daughter and I were both grossed out. Let me just say she never threw food away in the bathroom again and she is now 13. Thanks for the giveaway, it is that time of year. :)

I think our place must have been built on an ant hill! I learned this horrible fact when I first moved in and one of the kids dropped a piece of lunch meat in the kitchen. Next morning I was invaded! Ant traps or sprays don’t seem to do much. I would love to try this stuff.

It’s pretty nasty when my husband gets stung by fire ants, because he has a lot of allergies and they really swell up. Trick, though, my mom figured out that swabbing the area with white vinegar ASAP after you get stung will help keep the swelling down.

Well, there are two stories. Once, a colony or two of medium sized ants invaded my pantry, which is in the middle of my house! They found quite a route that didn’t alert me to their sneakiness until I opened the pantry for a fig newton!
The next one involved me getting into bed (with my dark red sheets) and finding a whole colony of ants IN BED WITH ME! I don’t think I’ve stripped that fast before. They had come in through a tiny nail hole…so cover those things, will ya?! I was so shocked, I think I was sweating non-stop for three days!
